Optimism and diaper changes

Optimism is flowing from the Sheard household today. And I truly mean that as I write from bed. Today is the first day that I am starting to feel "better" which has been a relative term in the past week, relative to the time of day and the last time I took pain medication. I'm only in bed because Alec and I were napping.

Yesterday, Alec and I went to the doctor's with the help of daddy. Nothing is majorly wrong, I have been dealing with a shooting and aching pain on my left side nowhere near my stitches. The best guess is they stretched a ligament or nerve with the spreaders during the surgery. The doctor gave me more medicine and suggested a heating pad. Why I hadn't thought about it I will never know but it has made a huge a difference. I can get in and out of bed without yelping and in and out of chairs with some amount of ease. They think most of the pain will be gone in the next week. I do have to give a huge kudos to daddy who has been helping with absolutely everything, far more than I ever could have imagined.

We have had a wonderful group of friends stopping by to visit little Alec bringing us little presents and food along the way. Mommy's tummy won't be going away anytime soon. Today Erica Letherer stopped by, she has definitely traveled the farthest to visit Alec, all the way from Arizona, and I'll pretend that she only came to MI to visit us.

I'll make sure that we get more pictures posted really soon, the hard part is that most of the time Alec is sleeping so the pictures start to look the same. It is amazing how much in love and how proud you can be of a little being that only eats and sleeps. But I am madly in love with my "Little Man"... gotta run he's up and ready to be entertained.
