There is something in the water...

Beware Phi Kap wives there is something in the water... apparently there are somewhere between 4-6 of us all due next summer, all within a 6 week time frame too. I know that it will make the summer weddings an adventure.

Check back for some Christmas pictures, if I can find a cable for my camera!

Christmas Cheer

What a wonderful Christmas. Well I have finally returned and have slept four straight nights at home. There really is no place like home. I had tons of fun visiting Cleveland, of course I didn’t get enough time with anyone person but at least I was able to recharge my need for family lovin’. We got to visit with Jonny’s half brother Whitt over the weekend and got lots of time with the Sheard family.

Christmas day was nice and relaxing. It was great to see the boys so excited, they were NUTS! I made my now traditional dinner of Prime Rib and Lasagna. Odd combination, I know, but it just isn’t Christmas without Lasagna.

While I returned to work on Wednesday Jonny was busy working on our master bath. Things were starting to look good until Jon and his dad removed the shower base. The wonderful handy-man before us put particle board under the base which of course was moldy and had disintegrated. So after sleeping in our spare room for the night, the well rested Jon will be assessing the damage and coming up with a repair plan today. At least we know the job will get done right. While Jon is busy with the bathroom I have cleaning to do, trying to make room for the baby stuff that will be flooding into the house in the not so distant future. We have a busy weekend ahead GLI Hockey MTU vs MSU or aka Olympia Room Alumni Reunion, Jon’s sister’s family is coming up for a visit, Brynn’s Pre-New Years Party, perhaps Kim and Ryan’s New Years party and hopefully some fun time relaxing too!

BELLY ALERT: Not too much to write about, although today is the first day that I did the rubber band trick on my pants. This pair is just a tad bit tight. Carol got me an excellent Christmas present of Bath and Body Works Shea Butter products to keep the stretch marks at bay ;)

I want pot... I want a pot belly...

Brought to you from the movie Pulp Fiction. It is official, I have this wonderful little layer of fat that has developed right below my belly button. I have a pot belly now! Not quite in the way yet, I'm hoping for a couple more weeks before I have to get the rubber bands out to extend my jeans. At least I'll be back in Detroit soon where my warm sweaters will develop the unsightly pudge.

I think (cross my fingers and toes) that I will be coming home next Wednesday. At any rate I am booking the flight. After thinking about it I can't fly home that close to Christmas, it isn't worth the risk to me. If you can't tell I am counting the seconds until I can get out of here. I know that pregnancy heightens your sense of smell, but the odor in Texas City is ridiculous. I didn't notice it when I first came down but now it smells like I'm breathing in acid. I'm still trying to figure out whether or not I'm heading to Cleveland next weekend, all I can think about at this moment is coming home! I love you guys and miss you.

I just can't get a picture to post

Our First Blog

OK, I have NEVER done this before but thought I would join the growing group of moms :) who post pictures and fun stories. Today was the first ultra-sound. Baby Sheard is 1.9 cm long and has a strong healthy heartbeat. Good luck with the picture! The baby's head is on the left, pretty much directly to the right of the head is his heart and you can see the little circles where her arms and legs are. Yes, there is only one I just can't decide to use him or her yet.

Ok for the personal stuff... It was awesome; first of course we could see the heart beating. I think we both sucked air at the same moment impossibly overtaken by such a miracle. Then we could hear it, a sound that will have us captivated for the rest of our lives. Jonny did fairly well! He only made fun of the couple with the matching down coats twice; we were in tears laughing so hard. And of course he had to smack my bare butt right before the doctor came in, I'm sure I had a red hand print for all to see. I'm doing ok, still eating crackers in bed, which annoys Jonny to no end. Plus he had his first experience of "give me food now or I will vomit" (I think he liked it)! I haven’t gained any weight yet, which isn’t too bad considering all the crummy food I’m eating.

For right now I'll try posting once a week, maybe Wednesdays. Since not to much is going on. I love you guys and miss you.
