I'm six months old and soo big!

This is my six month picture in the t-shirt Nana got me. But see how funny I am, I try sitting up when Mommy has me on the changing table. Plus she can't get all of me in the picture anymore. She had to lay me on the floor to get a full picture!

I visited Dr. Rosie and had my check up, she is pretty cool she let's me play but I don't like that nurse, she gave me two shots. I am 26 3/4" (75 percentile) and 16 pounds (25 percentile) Mommy calls me her string bean! Oh and my head is in the 90th percentile so I have to go back in a month to make sure I'm not too smart. The word of the day is pectus excavatum, that is the word for my chest indent, the spot that holds my bath water. (Mommy: Alec has a little indent in the middle of his chest right at his sternum. It should eventually go away, in the meantime it is of no real concern says Dr. Rosie).
No Mommy, I will not eat the peas you gave me, I am a big boy now and I just want to chew on my bib!!

The saddest part of being a working Mom

So I think thus far I have handled myself pretty well upon my return to work, I haven't cried to often or too hard. It is extremely hard maintaining the work/life balance but somehow I have made it through the weeks and even a business trip. I have a healthy beautiful baby boy who at the end of the day smiles and gives me a kiss. (Yes, it is his newest thing he almost violently grabs my face and hair and pulls my face to his so he can give me an open mouth slobbery kiss. I don't know if that is what he thinks it is, but that is what it is to me and I love it!)

So I discovered this weekend the saddest part about working, I don't see him get up in the morning. I leave to early, so Jonny wakes him up and takes him to Aunt Pauline's for the day. Saturday and Sunday I absolutely cherished (and cried) when he woke up. He wakes up so happy, with a fresh new day in front of him he smiles, talks, laughs, and plays with you. It nearly broke my heart this weekend. But at the end of the day I know that we are blessed to have healthy family, wonderful careers and a home that we don't worry about paying for. So I guess for the moment I will take my one or two tears and attempt to burn the image of his smiley face into my memory until next weekend.

Stay tuned Alec has his 6 month check up today!

Fun just hangin out

I just had to take Alec in the snow this past weekend, before the temperatures got too frigid. I'm not sure if I can say that he liked it, I think he was very interested, he didn't want to touch it and closed his eyes anytime it went in his face. Too cute...

A couple weekends ago we met up with some of Jon's fraternity brothers. Jacob, Alec and Max are three of the five phi kap babies that were born this summer. Jacob has two teeth, Max is crawling and Alec is the youngest of this bunch, he's working on everything but sleep.

I just love the leep frog that Aunt Pauline and Uncle Kevin got me. Every night I play with it.

I like to store my cereal in my chipmunk cheeks.

One last pictures with Nana before I had to leave after Christmas.

More Christmas Fun

Here are some fun pictures of Christmas morning and day, and the second Santa we saw (one just wasn't enough). Overall, Alec was a champ he opened a couple gifts but the really funny part is that he is now obsessed with paper. Anytime he sees it he goes nuts and wants to crumple it up and eat it. He use to be great at restaurants now you have to be careful, he'll steel the paper under your food sending everything flying. He's also fully sitting up on his own, very steady he can do it for at least 5 mins if he wants to.

I'm not a slacker

OK, I am not a slacker I have tried on multiple occasions to post some pics and silly blogger just won't work. I promise there are pictures with Santa, Christmas presents and more to look forward to.

Alec has been doing wonderful. He is fully sitting up on his own and now playing with toys by himself, it is too darn cute. I'm finally getting him to eat his vegetables, sort of. It is a mix of veggies and fruits, don't peas/apples, squash/peaches and sweet potatoes/pears sound like great combos?

He has been loving the night life, I'm not sure if it is his teeth coming in or what but he has been waking up every two hours or so. Finally last night he was passed out until he decided to be awake for two hours in the middle of the night, but in all he slept 10 hours and woke extremely chipper and happy today.
